Founded in 1941, CHELCO, whose full name is Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative Inc., is a non-profit Electricity Distribution Cooperative company and severs members for few years. Their mission is to provide quality products and service When abiding by the principle of cooperation. CHELCO’s Youth Tour Program is competition about electricity between high school juniors each year, and it is a week-long trip to Washington, whose goal is to increase their understanding of rural electric cooperatives and familiarize them with the historical and political environment of the nation's capital. All fees are sponsored by CHELCO.
