KTN is running a one-day workshop bringing together representatives from the agriculture sector, sensor technology providers, new technology developer

KTN is running a one-day workshop bringing together representatives from the agriculture sector, sensor technology providers, new technology developers and innovation funders to promote the innovation, development and the adaptation of sensing technologies in the UK farming industry.

Farming is an essential industry, not just for the UK but for the world. It is also one of the industries still largely relying on traditional technologies which have changed little over the past a few decades and in some parts of the world for over hundreds of years.

Traditional farming technologies rely heavily on machines and the mass use of agrochemicals. The recent, rapid development of sensing technologies, ICT and big-data technologies has provided a new opportunity for revolutionising farming technologies which could potentially transform the traditional farming industry into an intelligent farming industry, enabling precision and digital agriculture.

In the UK, many innovative sensing technologies have emerged which enable the industry to transform into a digital farming industry. The UK also has a strong and vibrant farming community with an interest in green and sustainable agriculture practices.

Expert speakers have been invited to give talks at this event covering key subjects relevant to market challenges and needs, state-of-the-art commercial sensing technologies, emerging sensor technologies, as well as relevant innovation funding opportunities in the UK.

There will also be table-top exhibition places available for interested companies to book for displaying/ showcasing their technologies, expertise and capabilities.

The event costs £25 to attend and exhibitor places are available at a cost of £150: the exhibitor ticket also includes two delegate places.
