The workshop will provide hands-on development sessions on the Better Platform™ and is designed to enable partners and implementation specialists to gain knowledge on the delivery of Better products quickly. Attendees will be able to focus on specific product capabilities and to acquire significant technical knowledge of related products to leverage the full scope of Better Platform™ capabilities. The workshop is designed in such a way that the first day will cover all the essential topics that every beginner needs to understand before they enter the openEHR world. The second day will focus on “hands-on” workshops, where everyone will gain an understanding of how to use Better Tools to create and deploy smart health IT solutions.
Who Should Attend:
Better Platform™ DevDays is a workshop for IT professionals and other professionals in healthcare, whether new to the Better Platform™ and openEHR, or with previous experience, to learn about using a clinical data platform as a common data layer and architecture.
Better Platform™ DevDays are aimed at those involved with the design, development, implementation, deployment and support of systems that use (or will use) Better Platform™ tools and openEHR models. Hands-on exercises will help you learn how to use Better Platform™ tools using your own laptops.
Workshop goals:
Upon completion, attendees will be able to:
Development
• List the major Better Platform features
• Explain how the Better Platform™ can fit into different health-related scenarios
• Develop an application to store data into the Better Platform™ CDR
• Query the data stored in the Better Platform CDR (write AQLs)
• Understand how to adapt openEHR data for BI
OpenEHR essentials:
• Understanding of openEHR concepts
• Knowing the relationship between archetypes and models
• Understand how data can be managed over the evolution of the system
• Key principles of data modeling
• Relationship with other standards (FHIR, SNOMED, HL7)
Better Tools
• Design a simple template in Archetype designer and deploy it to the Better Platform
• Build a form based on the template, adding some custom logic to the form
• Use Form builder advanced features
• Deploy the form and start collecting data
Prerequisites:
The attendees are assumed to be familiar with:
• JSON and web-infrastructure protocols, REST API calls, XML
• General software development principles like object orientation, databases, layered software design.
• Software implementation of those components
Make sure you bring your laptop for the hands-on session.
