Main Responsibilities:

· Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of hotels or motels.

· Verify customers'credit, and establish how the customer will pay for the accommodation.

· Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems.

· Make and confirm reservations.

· Issue room keys and escort instructions to guests and /or assistingstaff.

· Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts, manually or using computers.

· Post charges, such those for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls, to ledgers manually or by using computers.

· Compute bills, collect payments, andmake change for guests.

· Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to managers as necessary.

· Log and deliver of all messages, packages, and mail in a timely and professional manner.

· Manage cash office

· To maximize daily rate management...feed rates into various channels

· conversion from enquiries to sales

· cold calling to business premiseslocally

· Upselling to guests & customers.

· Responsible for Rate strategy & to liaise with TMD re marketing strategy

· To promote daily events/offers on SM

· To respond to Trip Advisor & Booking.com reviews

· To Maximize the Opportunity of Ireland's Hidden Heartlands

· To work towards putting the structures in place in our business to help us controlprices; assess the optimum channels for our business to sell through and how to forecast demand. Failte Ireland courses available

Key Skills and Personal Attributes:

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure, good at thinking quickly and sorting out problems on the spot, and the ability to stay calm in a crisis.
* Previous relevant experience in similar role

Computer literate and be capable of operating all types of booking software and use of faxes and printers.
