ABOUT FIRST CITY:
First City Nursing Services delivers a range of services including domiciliary care, day services, recruitment and training throughout Swindon Borough Council and is looking to expand to other areas in the near future.
THE ROLE:
Assistive technology/telecare/smart homes/apps are developing at a rapid pace and many gadgets are available to support older people and those with disabilities to stay at home. First City wants to be a market leader in their field, both in developing new applications and also inmaking the best use of all existing kit for our customers.
There is much talk in the social care field about how telecare/assistive technology can help but few areas have really developed in this area. This role will focus on enabling First City to dothis.
First City is looking to appoint someone who is interested and willing to help us to do this.
RESPONSIBILITIES:1 To work with Swindon Borough Council in rolling out MySense technology to 200 people
2 To research existing technology and make recommendations to staff as to how this could benefit customers.
3 To understand the needs of customers so as to better advise staff as to options available.
4 To review existing telecare suppliers and make recommendations as to potential providers5 To train a core group of staff on the benefits of telecare, equipment available and in the installation of that equipment in customers' homes
6 To develop apps in response to requests from senior managers.
7 To keep up to date with the fast changing environment so as to ensure that First City customers benefit from the latest developments.
8 To present reports to seniormanagers
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
This role will be based at First City's office in Cheney Manor.
Working hours are:8.30 - 5.00 Monday to Friday
Salary: up to £27,000 for a two year fixed term period.
Previous experience/knowledge to include:
1 Developing and implementing a change programme
2 Knowledge of adult social care
3 An understanding of how technology can enable people to remain safely in their homes
4 An ability to develop applications
5 Knowledge of softwareand programme development
6 Experience of working in the public sector an advantage
