Description:
Our client, based in the South East, commutable from Kilkenny, Portlaoise, Kildare, Gorey requires an Electrical Engineer.
You will be joining a specialist manufacturing facility that is growing and expanding and has been around for almost20 years. You will join a large design team, where you will work with experienced design engineers.
The client is an outsource manufacturer providing a full lifecycle service including concept design, component sourcing, costing, design for manufacture,prototyping, product testing, customer trials, scaled production and field
support. They help their clients accelerate their product release by providing expertise in design,
fabrication, and logistics. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a full-time electrical
engineer based at their facility.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and test electrical panels for air handling and other equipment.
- Create electrical schematics using Creo Schematics software. Maintain a library of componentsand work to ensure schematics follow industry standards and best practices.
- Engage with production staff to explain schematics and ensure wiring is carried out as per the
instructions. Ensure schematics are updated as per the build.
- Develop and build on existing software for Carel PLC controllers. Complete comprehensive testing
of control logic on the bench and install inthe equipment.
- Manage Release process ensuring the product is fully defined and checked including accurate bill
of materials prior to production release.
- Maintain a professional relationship with clients and actively participate in client design review
meetings.
- Focus on product quality ensuring client expectations are met and products are fully tested and
documented.- Complete site commissioning of design products as required. All safety precautions and best
practices for on-site work to befollowed. Complete site method statements and risk assessments
as required.
- Participate and utilise lean principles withinthe engineering department.
- Ongoing training will be provided as part of this role to ensure design skills are continually
improved and expanded.
Requirements
- Engineering Degree (Level 8 or higher) in electrical, electronic, controls, automation, mechatronic
or similar discipline will be considered.
- 2+ years experience design of electro-mechanical equipment.
- Proven hands-on management of projects.
- Attention to detail for both design and BOM release.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work on own initiative.
- Professional manner when working with customers and other staff when leading a build.
