Mechanical Design Engineer
Oxford
£40,000-£45,000 Per Annum (Pension + 25 days holiday + flexible hours + childcare vouchers + cycle to work scheme)

This is an excitingtime to join this company who started up around 3 years ago. They have prototypes nearing launch and need you to help them in the next stages of their development.
You will be responsible for the overall product design of my client's laser systems, working within a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical, electronic, software and optical systems where you will play a lead role inproduct development activities.
* To lead the mechanical and system engineering design for products with emphasis on opto-mechanical, electro-mechanical
* To carry out detailed mechanical design work including 3D modelling, simulations (e.g. thermal, stress and mechanical tolerances) and design verification testing as required
* To implement Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) concepts to ensure product reliability for field deployment
Skills & Experience
* Qualified to a minimum first degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Mechatronics preferred) with minimum 7 years industry experience in product design and development
* Highly skilled at CAD design, simulations andperforming complex tolerance stacks and analysis
* Experience of working with opto-mechanical and optical devices requiring high precision adjustments would be advantageous
* Experience with thermal analysis and thermal management design for both passive and actively cooled systems using COMSOL or similar
