Product Design Engineer - Herefordshire - £40,000 Per Annum
Due to a substantial hike in demand for my client's products, as a result of recent years of success, my client is now looking to grow their team and add an additional Design Engineer to their already highly experience team.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to design and develop a range of warehouse distribution equipment, taking the product from initial concept through to prototype for the UK's leading manufacturers of their products.
This role will be a mix of new product design as we all as continual development of the existing product range that they currently supply.
Job Specification:
·Work individually, as part of a team, or the product champion to take a projectfrom concept through to production
·Work closely with internal and external customers to establish the applications requirements and produce a clearly defined specification
·Produce CAD models, layouts, calculations, assemblies and detail drawings (Solidworks)
·Introduce new designs into manufacture. This will include the organisation of BOM's, processes, tooling and manufacturing documentation
·Work with shop floor personnel during the manufacture of prototypes, solving production problems and analysis/improvement of processes and tooling
·Organise and maintain the standards, documentation and literature necessary to successfully introduce/maintain a product
·Ensure that work/projects meet the agreed specification and are completed on time and withinthe cost estimates
·Supervise relevant personnel
Required Skills:
·Good knowledge of designing fabrications, engines andhydraulic systems
·Educated to HND/Degree level in a relevant design/engineering discipline
·Have a good understanding of steel processing operations, welding and the assembly of complex products.
