Description:
My client is looking to recruit a Project Manager for an infrastructure project near Corby. They are looking for a Project Manager with strong leadership skills, a commitment for deliveringexcellence and solid experience delivering complex civil engineering schemes. You will play an integral role in directing a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that each stage of the project is safe, progressing on time, on budget and to the right quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create a safe working environment;
* Continue to develop the 'Collaborative Behavioural' culture and 'One Team' approach;
* Ensure that the principles of CDM are applied and relevant legislation is complied with;
* Ensure Health, Safety and Sustainability standards are complied with;
* Engage with the Designer to ensure a safe, buildable and efficient Detailed Design is produced and in a timely manner to allow efficient delivery of the Scheme;
* Engage withthe Commercial Team to ensure selection of the best Supply Chain partners;
* Ensure all pre-commencement Planning Conditionsare discharged prior to commencement on site;
* Plan and prepare for the delivery of the Scheme prior to commencement on site;* Ensure all Temporary Works requirements are understood and designed prior to commencement on site;
* Plan, prepare and oversee the establishment of the site offices and compound;
* Champion the use of innovative technologies and techniques;
* Engage with the Risk Manager to actively manage risks and opportunities;
* Engage with the Commercial Team to manage costs, andmaximise cash flow and profitability and ensure any Changes in scope are captured and managed;
* Ensure any incidents/accidents are thoroughly investigated, closed out and learnings implemented;
* Ensure systems are in place to ensure that the qualityof work is to the required standards;
* Manage the Construction Teams and Supply Chain partners to ensure delivery of the Scheme in line with the agreed Budget and Programme;
* Plan and coordinate staff and operative levels that are sufficient to undertake their respective workloads;
* Ensure all internal and external reporting is completed at the prescribed intervals; and* Monitor and review individual performances, providing encouragement and discipline as and when required.
* Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Permit to Work systems, site inductions and safety briefings are correctly carried out.* Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and problems that may arise.
* Ensure and maintain strict quality control procedures.
* Ensure site team keep site diaries up to date.
* Effectively lead and manage direct reports ensuring appropriate competence is maintained, including annuals PDR's.
* Monitor capability of staff and contractors to undertake current and prospective workloads and report to senior management.
* Identify/assist in introducing new process, techniques and innovations onsite.
Experience and Qualifications:
* HNC Civil Engineering
* CSCS
* SMSTS
* Experience in managing civil engineering schemes
