iO have been engaged in the recruitment of a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a client of ours based in the Somerset area. They are going through a growth phase and looking to add strength to many areas of the business off the back of years of great success.
My client has multiple offices across the UK and are specialists in designing and manufacturing bespoke pumps and valves. These products have applications that cover a wide range of industries that includes Power Generation, Semiconductor and Chemical.
This company are very motivated to bring on another Senior Mechanical Design Engineer into their team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to help support the work that the current team is doing and to boost the capabilities of the company. This will include directing the work,mentoring and supporting more junior engineers and designers.
As a Senior member of the team, you must have a good mechanically biased engineering degree (or other engineering qualification depending on experience) plus at least 5 years' post degree experience of working on whole system design and development in a New Product Development environment.
On the technical aspect of the role, you will have a high level of 3D and 2D CAD skills (CATIA / AutoCAD ideally), FEA and CFD skills would be an advantage plus an understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and system schematics.
