Summary of role
I am delighted to be exclusively representing our client, an impressive US IDA backed multinational, who have an exciting role for a Senior Safety Engineer to form part of their Irish Start up in the Midwest. The successful candidate will part of the team that will establish their Centre of Excellence for Europe, from where you will assess and audit their clients engineering processes and designs as per IEC 61508 standards. Our client partners with a number of leading, well-known manufacturing companies throughout Europe.**This is an live vacancy with interviews being held via video conferencing**
Essential requirements summarised
The successful candidate will have a Degree in an Engineering discipline and have a minimum of 8+ years' experience within new product design and development . You will be a R&D Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer with knowledge of functional safety standards. You will also be customer focused, have strong problem-solving skills and an ability to take ownership

Key Responsibilities* Perform architecture reviews (FMEA/HAZOP) of proposed new designs.
* Perform audits for design companies focusing on their hardware / software engineering processes and designs.
* Participate in the interpretation of standards requirements and documentation of procedures for assessment.
* Conduct training in good development processes and Functional Safety requirements.* Support business development efforts; communicate with clients.
* Present at technical conferences and symposiums.
* Write articles and blogs for our website; and
* Participate in industry standards development.
