Scope and Purpose of Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two experienced Despatch Riders to join our dynamic and friendly team at ITH Pharma Ltd in order to facilitate the continual growth and expansion of the business.
You will be expected to transport medicines to hospitals and other healthcare locations as required. You will collect from and return to our base in North West London during the working day to complete multiple drops across London or to areas that may extend into the South East or the Midlands.
It is essential that you have a valid motorcycle license for an 800cc class vehicle. You must be 30+ and have a minimum of 2 years recent, incident free riding experience and you will be asked to provide evidence of this for insurance purposes.
The successful candidates will be required to pass a proficiency test with an advanced motorcycle instructor.
We will provide you with the use of an 800cc motorcycle, insurance, taxes, fuel and suitable protective clothing in return for a 39hr working week paid at £20,959 pgross pa on a monthly basis.
To assist with the provision of Despatch services under the Goods Out and Warehouse Manager’s management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
1.Product Despatch
·Attend the base (ITH Pharma offices – NW10 7NZ) each morning to discuss the schedule of pick up and drop off points.
·Plan routes and sort packages into order.
·Find the quickest route to delivery addresses.
·Report any delays or unexpected events during the journey to the Warehouse Manager.
·To assist with customer requests for delivery times and P.O.D’s.
·To ensure all portable communication devices e.g. mobile phone, PDA’s are sufficiently charged to maintain contact throughout the working day.
·To uphold the company’s reputation for service by interacting with customers and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner.
2.Documentation
·To sign for packages on collection.
·To get a signature for packages when delivering them.
·Keep paperwork and delivery records up to date
·To provide information in response to customer requests for delivery times and P.O.D’s.
3.Company Policy / Health and Safety
·To ensure policies are complied with in accordance with the Company Handbook. To ensure all accidents are reported and that compliance with the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive is observed at all times.
·To ensure personal protective equipment is used at all times.
General Responsibilities
Confidentiality
The post holder must maintain confidentiality of information about staff, patients and ITH Ltd and will be expected to follow the requirements of the Data Protection Act (1984) and Access to Health Records Act (1990).
Health and Safety
The post holder should be aware of the responsibility placed on the employees under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) to ensure that the agreed safety procedures are carried out to maintain a safe environment.
Management of Violence / Crime
ITH Ltd has adopted a visitor’s policy in order to protect staff and their property. All employees have a responsibility to ensure that those persons visiting the site have permission to do so.
