Materials andCoatings Engineer
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Materials Scientist to join a rapidly growing medical devices company in Oxford. The technology is revolutionary, cutting-edge and is attracting interest from all over the world. As a result the company have seen a huge rise in demand and are looking to recruit heavily to achieve their goals.
Salary & Benefits:
£35-50k depending on experience
Role and responsibilities:
*Leading materials development; looking at properties of coated elastometers
*Chemistry and production techniques, particularly in urethane and siloxane
*Manage coating processes -plasma and spray coating methods, using inorganic or organic compounds
*Achieve optical performance of the surface of the medical device - robustness and protection as well
*Work cross-functionally with FEA modelling teams, manufacturing and prototyping*Specify and debug coating and assembly processes in the lab
*Undertake empirical and numerical system modelling
*Interact with customers and third parites
Requires skills and qualifications:
*Master's or PhD in Chemistry of Materials Science
*At least 3 years' experience working in the field of materials engineering
*Working knowledge of MatLab, LabView and Office Suite
*Experience in SolidWorks is an advantage
*Hands on modelling experience in a test lab
*Excellent communication and presentation skills
