Role
To lead the sourcing and contracting process by managing outsourcing needs and professionally negotiating contracts for PD functions and teams.
Main Responsibilities* Lead clinical sourcing activities of medium to high-value and complexity for a clinical study team, within a region orsite
* Leverage the applicable clinical category guides and sourcing knowledge to determine the best method for driving value in meeting the request
* Understand clinical stakeholder requirements as received directly or indirectly.
* Directly communicate and influence clinical development stakeholders.
* Ensures compliance on Procurement principles and adherence to clinical trial regulations
* Lead the sourcing process for the delivery of clinical sourcing activity, including the oversightof competitive bids, cost negotiation with suppliers and risk mitigation using eSourcing tools
* Lead financial review meetings with the suppliers and supports the study teams in reviewing clinical study budgets and forecasts
* Ensure that both internal stakeholder and Procurement operational and cost savings targets are achieved
* Ensure that Procurement operational targets and metrics on customer service are delivered.
* Conduct operational Business Partnering with specific stakeholders withinthe region and in alignment with the Global Category and Supplier Management teams
* Provide input and feedback on high value procurement opportunities and support the creation of Category Guides and Strategies
* Deliver Category Strategy executionand Supplier Management activities for specific suppliers within the region and in alignment with the Global Category and Supplier Management teams
Skills/Requirements
* Completion of university degree, with business or science related degree preferable
* 5+ years business experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry, CRO (Clinical Research Organization), or Life Sciences
* Experience in managing CROs, central laboratories, and other clinical study vendors
* Working knowledge of RFP development, proposal evaluation, and contract and budget management
* Understanding of drug development process including conduct of clinical trials in global setting and ICH/GCP guidelines and regulatory compliance is a plus
* Study / Project Management within the pharmaceutical and/or CRO sector (desirable)
* Thorough understanding of:
* Clinical Development
* Contract Management
* Project and functional outsourcing management
* Ideally, partnership management
* 3+ years operational end-to-end procurement experience including Sourcing, Supplier Management and Category Management
