I am delighted to assist my client who is currently seeking aDirector of Nursing to work in a private hospital located in Westmeath. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fantastic team in a management role, working with the Clinical Nurse Managers, Consultants, Nursing Staff, HCA's, Allied Support Services and Senior Management Team.
About the Role
* You will be responsible for providing strong strategic, professional and clinical leadership for all aspects of Nursing, Healthcare Assistant and Allied Support Services
* Your focus will be on improvingthe patient experience, the quality of patient care and patient outcomes, in the context of developing a culture of performanceimprovement within the allocated resource
* You will be accountable for the development of staffing structures, staffing skillmix and for the clinical and operational competence of all staff under his/ her authority
* You will be a member of the Senior Management Team and will have a key role in creating an atmosphere and culture where quality and patient safety and experiencecan flourish within strong multidisciplinary collaboration across the hospital
Essential Criteria
* Must be registered with the NMBI in the General Division
* Must be a degree holder preferable to Master Level
* Must have 10 years postgraduatenursing experience (strong knowledge in Theatre setting an advantage), plus 3 years in a management position
* Possess strongleadership qualities and human resources management skills.
* Be able to work in a collegial and collaborative way
* Communicate effectively, both verbally & written, with Clinical and non-clinical staff, medical personnel, patients and relatives* Possess well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills
* Proven clinical ability including risk management, clinical audit and resource planning
* You must be competent in the use of information technology
