Panoramic Associates are working with a local authority in the South West to support them in finding a publichealth programme lead for a fixed term period

Under the general direction of a Specialist Public Health Manager, this role will lead on one of the following Programme areas: Physical Activity, Nutrition & Obesity, Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing, Tobacco control & NHS Health Checks, Drug and Alcohol, Children and Young People, Sexual Health, Health protection.Role responsibilities will include:

* Responsible for the development, commissioning, implementation and management of a programme of community-based and primary care public health interventions, ensuring that 'best value' is achieved in the provision of services.
* Ensuring that the programme is part of and contributes to the broader public health priorities with particular emphasis on the reduction of health inequalities and the wider determinants of health
* Developing service specifications and contracting, as well as ensuring the monitoring of services are carried out within the relevant performance assessment framework and that delivery is co-ordinated.
* Undertaking performance monitoring for the Programme area and contributing to relevantinternal and external reporting systems, completing mandatory returns where required.
* Liaising with and reporting to partners, funders and regulators as necessary, ensuring that all data/performance management and service information is available; contracts are monitored and meet the agreed targets and quality standards and are aligned with or incorporated into the governanceframeworks of partner organisations
* Working with the relevant managers, clinicians and stakeholders to establish effective arrangements to support the long term strategic development and commissioning of the programme area that supports a reduction inhealth inequalities in communities with the greatest need and priority groups
* Interpreting complex activity, epidemiologicaland financial information from wid range of sources to support commissioning and planning decisions.
