Business Development Manager

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Business Development Manager to join a Medical Devices Communication Company in Central London.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for achieving sales and profitability objectives across the companies MedTech’s two core business areas, vascular and cardiovascular, primarily selling Market Research. They will also have the target of achieving sales in new business areas, such as spine, neurovascular and cardiac rhythm.

This role is for a candidate with a proven sales background, who is strategic and loves hunting for new business and growing and managing an existing client base. They will be responsible for finding new clients, writing bids and developing the existing client base; there is significant opportunity to sell to currently untapped markets and to take control of developing some existing key accounts.



Responsibilities:

 

  • Achieving assigned sales targets
  • Deepening existing client relationships – generating incremental business, i.e. upselling BMTI’s capabilities
  • Develop relationships with new clients, i.e. generate new business
  • Consulting with clients on business issues and research design
  • Work together with the head of department to develop insightful proposals and top notch sales presentations
  • Working with the team of analysts to deliver quality results to clients, who expect above and beyond service at all times
  • Managing contracts and renewals of tracker studies on an annual/quarterly basis
  • Resolving sales or delivery issues

 


Requirements:

 

  • 1-5 years in a market research client service capacity, ideally in healthcare
  • Recent sales experience within a market research firm, either as a direct sales executive or in an analyst/account manager capacity
  • Experience and direct exposure with qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently
  • Ability to represent the company at industry events and conference in both Europe and the US

 

Experience within a target based new business role in Healthcare Market Research is of significant benefit, particularly candidates with an existing client book. However other candidates with a proven track record of new business sales in a related field will also be considered.


Salary is highly negotiable depending on experience and the successful candidate will be offered an unrivalled commission scheme.
