Our client is one of the World's largest material suppliers, looking for a purchasing manager to come and contribute to the year on year growth our client are currently experiencing.

The Role:

We are now looking to add to our team the truly business critical role of Purchasing Manager (European region).

Reporting to CFO Northern Europe and the Senior Director EMEA for Procurement this highly influential position will own and drive project and direct purchasing activity, supportingour regional growth and global desire for standardisation and best in class procurement process, managing and developing a highperforming procurement team.



Responsibilities:

* Driving implementation, maintenance, compliance of the procurementpolicies and procedures on a company wide basis. Contributing to strategic deliverables, and actively promoting continuous improvement
* Management responsibilities for team of procurement specialists/generalists.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders (at all levels and countries) to provide a fully comprehensive procurement service based on a balance of customer satisfaction and low cost
* Supplier management including consistent evaluation and development of new and existing suppliers (audits) in agreement with GPO
* Manage commercial risk at an acceptable level from a departmental responsibilities perspective within the business

Main duties:

* Ensure the implementation of global/regional strategies with the local supply base. Accountable for strategic relationships leading tactical sourcing plans for categories and commodities with major suppliers and partners at all stages of the procurement lifecycle
* Accountable for overseeing all aspects of contract and commercial management for the required products and services across all functions
* To reduce the cost of supply, whilst maintaining an effective supplychain
* Conduct supplier negotiations, attend contractual meetings with suppliers and prospective suppliers to discuss, negotiate and review contractual issues
* Accountable for operational and economic performance and continuous improvement of departmental functions against appropriate Global and Regional targets
* Managing a team of buyers, setting clear objectives, managing performance, developing skills and competencies
* To formulate for approval the overall sourcing strategy
* To ensure thecommercial and supply strategies are aligned with business needs and within corporate guidelines
* To maintain and improve policies, processes and tools to enable these strategies to be implemented
* To develop and collate required forecasts for European
* To provide the commercial input that supports the management of the business and project demands
* Operate under globaland regional contracts

Requirements:

* Proven category or project purchasing manager
* Experience working in a globalmatrix
* Track record of developing teams
* CIPS qualified.

Salary: £70 - £75,000 basic + benefits
