Description:
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading M&E Contractor for this freelance on-going role.This is a key role within an Estimating team, with a focus on producing accurate and timely mechanical estimates, for a range ofsectors including Rail, Tunnels and Construction. This role will ensure estimates calculated are in-line with the overall company's strategy and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Obtain competitive and accurate quotations from sub-contractors andsuppliers during the estimating process in order to obtain and complete bid package information
* Review and analyse proposalspecifications, drawings and any other documentation to prepare estimates
* Review and incorporate historical data on labourlevels from workers productivity and analysis reports to create an accurate reflection of costs of labour
* Coordinate mechanical database pricing and labour units.
* Keep an accurate record of quotations and working documents to support final estimates
* Working in-conjunction with Procurement, maintain a directory of electrical suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
*Liaise with internal teams such as, planning, design and operations on specific project requirements
* Work in-conjunction with the wider bid team to ensure, bids have been completed the highest standard
* Carry out site visits when applicable
* Attend pre and post tender meetings
* Work with the operational teams and attend mobilisation meetings to ensure scope of works iscommunicated fully
* Produce take offs and price Mechanical works from the bottom up
* Present estimates to clients, as andwhen required
Technical Knowledge and Skills
* Adept knowledge of Mechanical principles
* Knowledge of estimatingbest practices and methodologies
* Proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Excel
* Knowledge of estimating software and packages
*
HNC/ONC or above
* Full UK Driver's License
* Previous experience in the same position as a MechanicalEstimator
* Experience working within a Mechanical and Electrical contractor
Our client is looking to interview week commencing 21st October to start ASAP.
