Product Support Technician

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for one of our clients whoare a British independent group which delivers innovative building envelope solutions to the construction industry. This includes some of the most respected brands in the construction industry, including Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems, Axim Architectural Hardware, and Alu-Timber. They also distribute Duco Ventilation & Sun Control Systems. Together they deliver a uniqueopportunity for professionals to rely on a single source solution for architectural aluminium systems, door hardware and ventilation products.
Due to expansion they are now looking for a product support technician to assist them in the manufacturing, production and technical detailing of their specialised aluminium systems. Someone who has had experience with designing aluminiumsystems, curtain walling, cladding or building envelopes would be ideal for this role but all background will be considered.Responsibility & Duties
External & internal customers Consultancy (architects, main contractors, engineers, specialist contractors). Supporting customers & Technical Team with
* Supporting customers with information on the Groups products. These will include
* Structural calculations
* Thermal transmittance calculations
* General interface detailing (AutoCAD, Revit)
* Estimating (Genesis, V6)
* BIM Family creation (Window, Door, Curtain walling models using Revit)
* ThermalSimulations (Bisco)
Experience & Qualification
* Relevant experience and/or qualifications with AutoCAD or Revit ideal
* Understanding of BIM would be of benefit, though not necessary.
* Relevant experience and technical understanding in relation to Rain screen cladding and curtain walling facades & Aluminium systems.
* Architectural or construction backgroundwould be good.
* Portfolio advantageous
* Microsoft Office
