Senior Quantity Surveyor - MEP
Location: Euston - London NW1
Salary Range: £350 - £500 a day DOE
Our client is a MEP specialist involved in major projects in over 14 countries around the world.
Job Summary:
This isa pivotal position within the commercial team working on a £30M M&E contract on a Hospital, providing support to the projectteams, to ensure projects are running within cost, and maximise profit.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with and supportthe Project Manager and other project team members to ensure that projects exceed its commercial targets
Contribute to regular and accurate reporting to senior management (e.g., PHR/CVR/Cash Flow/Weekly Updates etc)
Control the project budget and determine regular commercial forecasts
Carry out valuations for the purpose of payment applications
Manage Subcontractor accounts in line with the agreed subcontracts and to align with any upstream contractual requirements
Identify, notify and valuechange (variations, compensation events, claims).
Maximise the recovery of all contractual entitlements.
Ensure the companies contractual obligations are met, not least regarding the times for giving notices and making applications
Identify the existence of any "claim" and "extension of time" situations in conjunction with other project team members and report on the sameEnsure that all contemporary records are kept by the project team members for use in supporting claims, extensions of time, and the evaluation of variations
Support any tender processes and company strategy as required
Generally, provide commercial support as required and/or directed, and
Promote and maintain professional working relationships
Liaise with the company's procurement team as necessary for the engagement of subcontractors
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Essential* Knowledge of standard engineering and/or construction contracts
* Demonstrable understanding of Construction law and standard forms of contract

* Detailed knowledge of NEC contracts
Qualifications:
Essential
* Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent
* Hold a valid CSCS card
Competencies / Behaviours:
Essential* Excellent communication skills at all levels, both verbally and written
* Provide a professional service and communicate effectively with key stakeholders within the business
* Excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of MS packages
* Build and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Desired
* Ability to work well within ateam and equally confident when working as sole point of commercial advise
Experience:
Essential
* 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor
Desired
* Track record of working in services (MEP) environments and within Engineering sector projects
* Previous experience on large MEP projects
