Description:
I have an urgent requirement, on behalf of an IT Services provider, for a 2nd Line Wintel Engineer.
You will work to support end customers in the delivery of technical support services, by gaining an understanding of customer's technical environments in order to plan and enablethe organisation to be proactive in their approach to maintaining, managing and supporting service.
This is approx. a 3 monthcontract; outside ir35.
Remote working is available.
The Role:
* Provide 2nd line support to client's technical functions ensuring all incidents are reported and rectified in line with agreed SLAs.
* Identify the appropriate 3rd party supportrequired to resolve issues where they cannot be managed internally.
* Work closely with the Customer and internal stakeholdersto plan and ensure successful delivery of technical changes as required by the customer.
* Works with the client and both internal resources and external 3rd parties to resolve technical faults as they arise and keep the client up to date with progressas required until these faults are resolved.
* Provide out of hours cover as required to deal with client's Priority 1 incidents though incident management keeping the client informed as required and supporting the root cause analysis process.
* Reportany actual or potential security risks or incidents you become aware of through the Security process.
* Use your experience and expertise to support the IT Delivery team.
* Identify areas for service improvement and efficiency's.
Skills/Experiencerequired:
* Proven track record of delivering success in a similar role within an IT or professional services business.
*Has good knowledge and operational understanding of the following technologies:
o Windows operating systems (Server / Desktop)o AD experience
o Microsoft Azure support
o VMware
o Microsoft SQL server configuration and administration
o Virtual Desktop (VDI)
o exchange
o good understanding of LAN and WAN network technologies
o Backup technologies (Veeam / Actifio)
* Incident, Problem and Change Management from an operational perspective
* ITIL v3 experience is highly desirable.
* Experienced Microsoft Office user (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
