Site Access Controllers
MacRail Systems is a family run, IT based company with around 140 employees nationally. We are currently recruiting for two Railway Site Access Controller's (SACs) for immediate start to work on railway engineering sitesaround the Preston area. The work will be on a weekend day and night shifts.
As a SAC you will need to be able to work on your own but as part of a team working on a railway site. You will be responsible for allowing access to site, ensuring workers are qualified to work, have the correct PPE and read a Health and Safety site brief to groups of workers. Experience of the rail industry and/or site access is not essential.

Mid Week & Weekend Working including Night Shifts on a Railway Sites.
To carry out this role SACs must need to have the following skills and attributes:
* You will be self-motivated with a pro-active approach and have experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
* The ability to effectively communicate (both verbal and written)
* Confident and assertive - able to deal with challenging individuals and/or situations
* Competent to deal with groups of people, including delivering important Health & Safety information
* IT literacy
* Being professional at all times - you will be representing both MacRail and the client, often being the only MacRail representative on site
* You must have a full UK driving license and have access to a car
Terms and Conditions:
This position will be Mid week and weekends both days and nights.
Shifts are generally between 10 and 12 hours in length. Ideally you will be seeking 1-2 shifts per week and where possible will be flexible to work across the whole weekend.
Site Access Controllers are employed on casual zero hour contracts on a permanent basis and paid monthly. Holiday pay is accrued and paid as requested. This job would suit someone who is looking for casual work or to top up a midweek job.
Due to fatigue management you may be required to stay away and accommodation will be provided.
Rates of pay per hour
Training £7.83
Midweek Days £8.79Midweek Nights £9.00
Weekends £10.54
A London weighting rate of £1 more per hour is paid when working within the M25 motorway boundary.
The area of work will vary week to week and so candidates will be required to have their own independent transport and be willing to travel, typically up to 60 miles but could be further. Mileage is paid at 25p per mile and also paid monthly.
Full training, uniform and equipment are provided.
