This world class business and innovator in personalised solutions for its travel partners, is seeking an experienced and FCA accredited Head of Financial Services to join them.
This is an amazing opportunityto join a fantastic company at a very exciting time. You, as Head of Financial Services, would report to our highly skilled CEOand work alongside 3 other professional and really friendly Financial Services professionals.
The overall purpose of your job:
You would be the Head of Financial Services leading a specialist commercial insurance broker comprising 2 broking managers and an administrator. The brokerage has 2 specialisations;
*UK travel industry bonds required by tour operator and/or travelagents to comply with membership (ABTA) or licensing (IATA & ATOL) requirements.
*Risk Management products designed toprotect travel organisers acting as principals against losses incurred in the event of supplier insolvency or force majeure events.
The brokerage will also handle the general insurance requirements of its members placed in the open market or within a scheme set up for receiving the memberships business.
The brokerage is a USP as it acts as the sole conduit to the group's insurance company based "offshore" in Guernsey. The insurer is the brokerages main but not exclusive source of bonds.
The role will require regular liaison with the insurer including regular attendance at board meetings and involvement in renewing reinsurance arrangements. The insurer is the brokerage's main but not exclusive source of bonds
Job Duties:
* Responsibility for General Management to include; o Marketing both internally to a diverse membership and externally to travel agents and tour operators to support the business development strategy;
* Business Development interfacing with members: o focused on generating moredirect clients in respect of the specialisations and diminish reliance on other brokers placing risks with the group's insurance company;
o to engage the brokerage for general insurance products to be placed in the open market but with the objective ofcreating a preferred membership scheme for receiving such business.
*Administration focused on maintaining accurate and compliant broking files
*Compliance focused on managing an external/independent compliance resource
Professional Profile:
*Professionally Qualified; FCA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
*Solid experience from Accountancy role in the travel industry
*Travel industry regulation & bonding regime
*Strong aptitude, qualification and/or experience for
*Lead generation/awarenessMarketing
*Development of business portfolio
*Team management
*Commercially astute
It would be advantageous for the individual to have:
*Insurance Company &/or Insurance Broking
*CII and or CA professional qualifications
