Description:
I am currently recruiting for a very successful tour operator who are based in North Surrey, they are looking to expand their Revenue Management team and are currently looking to recruit a Senior Data Scientist to drive UK market growth, optimise APD's & drive on onboard revenue through optimal decision making driven by analysis & statistical modeling. This position will require both advanced data mining expertise (SQL) and the ability to manipulate data & clearly present findings. A total revenue management approach will be adopted to maximise allareas of the business. Predictive & proactive attributes and data management will prove fundamental when continuously improving the future of this company's analytics. The data scientist is responsible for ownership, distribution and development of the reporting & Insight suite. Quantitative & Qualitative information will be used to make decisions & recommend changes in business strategy, process & policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Focuses on business performance monitoring and reporting by creating business intelligence reports to assess the current performance and to understand business risks in order to meet year-end forecasts.
*Designs and conducts quantitative analysis of revenue drivers, including the determination of appropriate methodology/statistical techniques.
*Leads the identification and validation of guest segments and developsstrategies to drive on board spend, NPS, loyalty, improved retention and acquisition
*Continuously improves 'best in class' market and revenue insight tools through multiple mediums (PowerBI, Tableau) for the UK market with a view to roll out across International markets.
*Increasing on board revenue by turning data into meaningful insight and making recommendations for enhancements in business operations , promotions , policies & strategy
*Develops and communicates revenue strategies for onboard revenue to gain efficiencies, improve functional capabilities, and implement critical business initiatives which impact P&L performance.
*Drive price optimisation through ownership and development of automated competitor benchmarking suite
*Optimal booking curve development- Use statistical modelling to define optimal targets based on historic volume and rate performance, promotional & marketing activity and macro factors
*Launch & Lead regression modelling to understand the relationship between promotions
*Initiate and integrate a predictive & proactive approach when determining price, promotions & targets
*Develop market optimisation & forecasting tools in order to insure the best approach to achieving consistent market growth*Manage databases (Sourcing , scheduling, cleansing & automation)
*Ownership, distribution, development & maintenance of the UK insight/reporting suite
EXPERIENCE:
*Understanding of statistics, such as statistical testing, regression, etc. preferred
*Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and problem identification
*Ability to collect, analyze and interpret revenue performance data
*Ability to make strategic and tactical decisions with large financial impacts with minimal supervision
*Ability to structure logically quantitative analyses of complex issue
*Familiarity with business forecasting
*Proven track record in program and project management and implementation, metrics development and analytics.
*Excellent interpersonal skills tocommunicate with all levels of management, guests and employees.
*Ability to effectively present information to senior leadership.
*Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple projects and priorities.
*Proven track record of database management
*Belief and ability to maintain a continuous improvement working ethic
QUALIFICATIONS & THECHINAL SKILLS REQUIRED:*Bachelor's degree with qualifications in a related background such as Operational Research, Business Information Technology ,Statistics, Computer Science or Mathematics
*4+ years' experience and/or training in an analytic or quantitative discipline required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
*SQL programming language - Intermediate to Advanced
*Tableau orPower BI -Intermediate to Advanced
*Excel Skills - Advanced
*R/ Python desirable
*TOAD desirable
*Oracle experience desirable
*Power Point
