BBC Music Day is the UK wide annual celebration of the power of music to change lives, with over a thousand events across the UK and broadcasts on TV, Radio and Digital. We are excited to present three very special acts:
Gabrielle Sargent - Opera singer
Soprano Gabrielle Sargent began her musical education in classical singing in Malta at the age of 11, undertaking vocal tuition with Andriana Yordanova for several years, before furthering her studies with Denise Mullholand. Gabrielle took part in various productions in Malta, some of which include chorus in BOV Opera Festival 2010 Rachmaninoff's 'Aleko', Benjamin Britten's 'The Little Sweep', the BOV Opera Festival 2014 Mozart's 'La Clemenza di Tito' and the BOV Opera Festival 2015 'L'Elisir d'Amore'. She was awarded the Ian Tomlin Scholariship in 2016, which is when she moved to Edinburgh to commence her studies at the Edinburgh Napier University. Gabrielle has just finished her third year of the course, where she studies with Catriona Clark.
Blair Coron - Singer Songwriter
Blair Coron is a musician and composer residing in Glasgow blending the borders between contemporary classical music, ambience, folk and poetry. With the aid of his string ensemble accompanying his piano compositions, Blair’s primary intention is to create enchanting atmospheres that sets course for introspection and meditation.
Lola Flexen - Pianist
Lola is a young pianist who will perform some solo piano works but will also be joined by some peers from St Mary's Music School to perform piano trio pieces.
