This programme is all about giving young people aged 10 to 17 years an opportunity to learn one musical instrument for 12 weeks. Each young person will have to choose from one of three musical instruments – Keyboard, Drums or Electronic Guitar.
Research shows that the benefits of music education include improved academic, physical & social skills. It also boosts self-esteem, cultivates discipline, patience, and can introduce children to other cultures. I believe these sessions will build the self-esteem and confidence of participants and enable them to develop their horizons.
The weekly 1 hour sessions will take place at The Link Thamesmead on the following dates:
Saturday, Oct 5 to 26
Saturday, Nov 3 to 30
The hourly sessions will be between 11am and 2pm. There will be an end of project concert on Saturday, November 30 2019 where participants will be celebrated and they will have the opportunity showcase their talents. This event will be open to their families and friends. To register your young peoples’ interest, please follow this link.
