Big skies, campfires, Gourmet food and Yurt action amongst atmospheric salt marshes

Start point

Stowmarket station, Suffolk, Friday morning. Finish Kings Llyn Station, Norfolk, Sunday afternoon.

The plan

We start on Friday morning in the Suffolk market town of Stowmarket, and cycle on quiet country lanes to our prepared campsite in the Norfolk Broads. Opportunity for an evening swim in the river before settling down to a hearty dinner around the campfire, prepared by our campsite host.

After breakfast on Saturday morning, we cycle up to the famous North Norfolk coast to Stiffkey, where again our campsite will be set up for us. Here there are the atmospheric salt marshes and vast open landscape to one side of you, and the beautiful Norfolk countryside on the other. A chance to try the famous Cromer crab and local seafood.

On Sunday morning we’ve got a 30 mile ride before a fabulous lunch at the famous Dabbling Duck gastro pub at Great Massingham.  After lunch we have a short 15 mile ride to the station at Kings Lynn for the return train journey to London Kings Cross which takes one and a half hours.

The Cycling

Approximately 120 miles of cycling over 3 days. The Broads are very flat but the North Norfolk coast has some surprisingly hilly sections.

What is included

  • Guided cycling with an experienced guide with knowledge of the area.
