Rebirthing Breathwork with Gong was first developed four years ago by Purnima in a work partnership with Brazilian Sound Therapist Susan Manjula.
Brought to the UK in 2016, this project is an initiative of Rebirthing Club of London and SonicSoul, and aims to offer a new wave of conscious Breath Therapy and Sound Therapy in group sessions.
(What is Rebirthing Breathwork )
Conscious Breathing is a breathwork therapy that revitalises and rejuvenates the body, refreshes the mind, delights the soul, and enlivens our actions and relationships.
During the entire Rebirthing session, one should breathe consciously through the mouth (recommended for the first 20 sessions), and connect the inhale and exhale in a continuous breathing cycle. As the breathing goes on, the body will build up energy and find an active rhythm and flow.
During the session, physical, emotional and mental reactions may occur. Each session is different, and all of these reactions, or non-reactions, are part of the healing process. At all times, it is important to surrender to what the body’s intelligence feels ready to discharge and carry on breathing. The breath is the key to liberating suppressed tensions and feelings, and regaining your freedom of conscience.
After a session, you should feel very relaxed, clear minded and revitalized, and find lightness and fluidity in your body. For some, this relaxation will remain for days whilst for others, it will come with more distinct realisations and insights in various life contexts and specific situations.

(Rebirthing Breathwork and Gong)
The sound of the Gong will be brought in to the Rebirthing Breathwork session.
The Gong is a musical percussion instrument of ancient origins used as a transformational, healing and spiritual tool in Sound Healing. The healing sounds it produces balance and harmonise our whole being (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, energetic) rejuvenating our life force.
Together, these two terapies, potentialise the benefits of a session. Rebirthing Breathwork promotes an expansion, and the sound of the Gong helps to dissolve resistance.
The session starts at 3pm. Please arrive 5 minutes before to settle in.
The workshop includes:
-An induction section where you learn the breathing technique of Rebirthing Breathwork, and are introduced to the sounds of the gong.
-A 90 minutes practice section. You lay down on a comfortable mat ready to begin practice. In the beginning of the session, the Rebirthing Breathwork is accompanied by recorded music. The gong will come in at a specific point in the practice, when most resistance is met.
-A sharing and feedback section.
About the Facilitators:
Purnima (Rebirthing Breathwork)
Purnima embraced Rebirthing Breathwork path since 2001. She was extensively trained by Anand Ramyata, Samvara Bodewig, and Bob Mandel. Also, she is Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Teacher and practitioner since 1997. Currently based n London, she works at Bodywise Health Centre, Triyoga and Purnima is the founder of the Rebirthing Club of London.

Patricia Carlota‘s Sound Healing practice specialises in the use of high quality large gongs. Her intention is to create a sacred place to nourish intuition and heart space, explore perception, expand consciousness, follow inner guidance, and feeling each moment to the fullest.
