AGED 9 to 15– Learn Track Cycling at the HSBC National Cycling Centre!
The HSBC National Cycling Centre is the UK’s premier indoor cycling velodrome hosting the Great Britain Track Cycling National and Olympic squads of today and tomorrow.
Eastlands Velo and Sportcity Velo are youth/junior cycling clubs based at the National Cycling Centre teaching youth riders how to ride and race track bicycles. We run weekly beginners track sessions open to youth and junior riders from age 9 to 15 years old who: A) Fit a 39cm track bike or larger and B) capable of riding a standard bike continuously for 15 minute.
Sessions run on Mondays 6 to 7 pm but you should arrive by 5:45 pm
The session includes:
- Track bicycle
- Helmet
- Cycling Shoes
- Coaching
You‘ll need to dress for exercise. Riders don’t need to be lycra’d out but baggy clothes aren’t practical. Shorts and a cotton short sleeve shirt work well but you can bring cycling kit if you’d like. Other items to bring:

- Inhaler
- Your own helmet if desired
- Your own cycling shoes is desired (look Keo cleats only)
The linked membership form which needs completing before the session begins. https://sportcityvelo.com/wp/useful-documents/ Monday riders are considered guests, so you're exempt from the annual membership fees until promoted to our Saturday session. If you forget to bring this copy, we'll have blank copies at the session.
Directions when you arrive:
Look for the main entrance, left of Evans Cycles. Once inside, reception can point you in the direction of the riders “D” . Please arrive no later then 5:45.

Why do I have to complete the Membership form?
Until you move to our Saturday session, you’re not required to be a member however we require the emergency contact information, rider medical information and consent signature maintained on this form. Minimum age requirements to enter the event?
9 years old minimum and 15 years old max. All riders must be: A) a minimum of 135cm tall and fit onto a 39cm track bike or larger and B) capable of riding a standard bike continuously for 15 minute.
How many Monday sessions can I attend?
You can attend just one Monday session
OR
Book multiple sessions
If you're interested in moving to our Saturday morning sessions, you‘ll need to meet our minimum standard on the Monday session. Every rider is different but the average attendance time is 4 to 6 Monday sessions before moving to Saturdays. Saturday riders are restricted from riding the Monday session.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

What's the refund policy?
The Eventbrite fee is non-refundable. Purchased and unused future Monday sessions may be used as credit on Saturday club sessions. Monday sessions paid for but not attended are Non-Refundable
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No but having a ticket on your phone does make signin faster. Printing your ticket seems a waist of paper.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes, this is OK as long as the rider meets our age requirements
