Part of a programme of workshops in conjunction with the exhibition Horizon; an exhibition of new works by artist-printmaker Jamie Temple.
On this workshop you will have the opportunity to engage with the work in the exhibition; making prints and writing short poems with expert guidance from writer Justine Marzack and artist Jamie Temple.
You will be given an introduction to varied techniques and approaches to monoprinting and colour theory, while writing poems drawing inspiration from symbolist, surrealist or concrete poetry writing techniques. This monoprinting poetry workshop will invite participants to explore what colours bring to mind alongside creating a set of unique one-off prints on paper.
You will gain an insight into printing processes and how they are used by artists and makers, with the workshop covering: sketching out ideas and planning, mixing and applying oil based inks, and working with a range of experimental approaches exploring colour, poetry, texture and line.
Justine and Jamie will give an introduction to writing techniques and printmaking and will be on hand throughout to offer individual support and guidance. By the end of the course you will make a set of unique prints combining writing and colour to take home.
