Stage2' Autumn Term 2019

Birmingham's Busiest Youth Theatre returns this Autumn, offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to get involved in a unique festival of original writers. If performing on the Stage isn't for you, we also offer several types of Workshops to suit any age, any ability!

Stage2's Autumn Term begins on Saturday 21st September and runs every Saturday during Term Time until the 14th December. You can choose either to be involved in a half-day slot or do a full day - either way you'll have bags of fun and learn loads!

Not Sure?

Why not benefit from our "Taster for a Tenner" where you can attend a full or half day workshop for just a tenner to see what you think!

Project: The Young Writers' Festival - Full or Half Day

Following the success of last year's Young Directors' Festival, Stage2 returns to the Hexagon Theatre in December to present the Young Writers' Festival - it's a celebration of young talent and an excellent way for any budding actor or writer to engage with new and original content.

This option runs across the whole day and members can choose to get involved with either a full or half day. Anyone who wants to can sign up at the Intro Day to be cast in one of the 5 performances being held at the Festival - the more of the day you take part in, the more you can perform in.

For members who aren't ready to take a performance to the main-stage, then in the afternoon we will work on an informal devised performance to be showcased to parents, friends and relatives at the end of term Sharing.

Workshop:  - Mornings 9.30 - 1pm

This option is ideal for members aged 11 – 21. Each week will feature a different skill including the more familiar Improvisation, Characterisation, Voice and Physicality, alongside Team Building and Ensemble Work. The group will be relaxed and informal but we will expect dynamism and focus to allow members to develop new skills or build on existing ones.

There will be a Sharing at the end of term to show the rest of the company, friends and family what we have learnt. Every week will be completely self-contained. Absolutely no experience required and a great way to learn, have fun, play games, make great memories and establish long-lasting friendships!

Workshop: Stage1 - Afternoons 1.30pm

This option is ideal for any young person of Primary School Education (7 – 11).

This is a friendly group, where members mix, learn and have lots of fun in a secure environment with other enthusiastic and willing members. Members participate in fun games, drama exercises and active play every Saturday afternoon. A great boost for members’ imagination and creativity as well as individual confidence.

There will be a Sharing at the end of term to show the rest of the company, friends and family what has been learnt.
