When do you spend time with your creativity, your emotions, your aliveness? When do you allow yourself to be fully present in the moment, vividly with others?
Leyton Yoga is delighted to present our very first artist-led program that is open to all - Yogi or non-Yogi.
Led by award winning actress, writer and poet, Christina Carty (Downton Abbey, Filthy and Tree Child) Christina will lead 20 participants through a tailor-made creative exploration that will have each participant experience the aliveness and joy of their vulnerability and the extraordinary power of their creativity. Each person will experience the aliveness and joy that is present in their own creative expression and learn how to utilise it in their everyday lives.
Starting September 5th and running until November 7th, the ten-week program will include:
- Mindful breathing
- Clowning
- Improvisation
- Devising
- Creative Writing
- Group song
- Poetry
- Handwriting
All materials provided. Limited to 20 participants.
Date: 5th, 19th, 26th September 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st October 7th, 14th November 2019
Time: 8:30-10pm
To get the most value from the program, we recommend participants attend all sessions.
One scholarship (fee paid) is available for a participant from the local community. Please contact the studio for further information.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
1. This is a class truly for everyone. It is for people who were good at art when they were 7 but then stopped because they weren't good enough. It is for people who want a break from the routine of their 9-5 desk jobs and allow themselves to just go. It is for people who feel they missed out on opportunities to write, create, perform because they were too busy getting on with life. It is for artists who want to approach their creative expression from a fresh perspective. It is for parents, teens (over 18), teachers, adventurers or those self-penned as boring.
In fact, this course is best described in what is required of you:
