Course Overview

This course will:

  • introduce you to using your voice as a performer or public speaker
  • explore fundamental voice techniques including breath support and control through practical work
  • delve into key areas such as articulation, rhythm and resonance to enrich vocal performance
  • build confidence and develop effective techniques to help conquer nerves
  • link your developing skills to practice on texts, enabling you to begin to free your voice and find a true connection to the words you speak

At the end of the course you will be invited to perform a poem and a piece (acting monologue/public speech) to apply your learning in context.

The course is for.....
  • people that are looking to improve their public speaking skills
  • actors that want to explore the use of voice in performance
  • anyone that wants to embark on a journey of vocal development
  • voice practitioners who want a solid base from which to specialise

Please note: due to the nature of voice work, the course contains a certain amount of floor work (especially in the first few weeks). We recommend bringing a yoga mat or towel to the sessions for your comfort.
