About responsibilities:
* Be a "Curator" of the Data Warehouse. Provide clean data setsto end users, modelling data in a way that empowers end users to answer their own questions. This includes working on the Herdwatch Enterprise Data Model, Metrics and other frameworks.
* Optimize DBT models.
* Be a thought leader in refining how we develop, test, deploy, organise, and document DBT models and our data warehouse.
* Help evolve the Data Platform by contributingto the design and implementation of the next generation of the stack, both from an infrastructure and data modelling point of view.
* Collaborate with product managers, and go-to-market teams to build automation and tooling to support their needs in an environment where dozens of changes can be shipped daily. This includes a lot of quality-of-life tooling to automate away daily toil to help everyone focus on high-value-added tasks.
* Implement systems to monitor what we have built, to detect and surfaceboth bottlenecks and problems with the infra and data quality issues.
About you:
* You have a solid understanding of SQL, and significant experience in data modelling, warehouse design.
* You have familiarity with big data processing frameworkslike PySpark or data transformation libraries like Polars, Pandas.
* You have strong professional experience or understandingof tools and technologies that are in our stack such as AWS Athena, DBT, BigQuery or equivalent technologies.
* You have demonstrable experience with creating dashboards and charts. Hands-on experience with BI tools in our stack like QuickSight, Preset is a bonus.
* You have some understanding of setting up CI/CD pipelines for data. We use GitHub actions but familiarity with any data-ops framework is a bonus.
* You can demonstrate the impact of your work. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
