Job Title: Garage Manager / Fleet Operations Manager

About Us:
My client takes pride in operating a robust fleet of over 130 vehicles and morethan 400 trailers, serving a wide-ranging customer base of over 900 companies across Ireland, the UK, and Europe. As their FleetOperations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation and maintenance of our extensive fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take charge of the day-to-day operations of the fleet, ensuring seamless workflow and quick response to breakdown call-outs.
* Maintain our trucks and trailers to the highest standards, strictly adhering to serviceintervals.
* Guarantee all vehicles are tested annually and possess current CVRT test certificates.
* Oversee the servicingand calibration of refrigerated trailers and GDP trailers.
* Ensure the proper calibration of Tachographs on all trucks.
*Collaborate with the fleet manager to maintain a comprehensive service history for each truck and trailer.
* Supervise and lead a team of 9 skilled staff, including vehicle mechanics, tire fitters, and apprentices. Authorise daily tasks, manage attendance, approve leave and overtime requests, and promote a culture of excellence and safety in the workplace.
* Be responsible forthe invoicing of all maintenance and repair work, monitoring daily and weekly tasks for approval.
* Maintain the garage facility in impeccable condition and ensure the team complies with health and safety policies and procedures.
* Work closely with the Parts Manager to ensure efficient parts ordering, availability, and stock management.
* Act as the primary point of contactfor external repair agencies when needed.
Qualifications and Traits:
* A minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience in a similarmanagerial role.
* Possession of a qualified HGV Mechanic certification, with 5 years of experience (preferred).
* Full andvalid driving license, including an HGV C license.
* A strong track record in managing a busy garage, ideally with experienceoverseeing fleets exceeding 100 vehicles.
* Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
* Self-motivated, with astrong work ethic.
* Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
* Strong decision-making skills and an initiative-driven mindset.
* Reliable, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work and a positive, can-do attitude.
