This highly successful Reinsurance corporate in the City of London is seeking a Graduate with a Mathematics or Mathematical related degree, to join their team as a Graduate Reporting Analyst.
The Graduate Reporting Analyst will be provided with training & guidance as to how to gather the required data, confirm the data quality, undertake the required analysis and then build the reports on the company's Client &Financial Reporting commitments, many of which are regulatory requirements.
As a fast growing Reinsurance organisation, thecompany work hard to retain their positive family feel within the business and are seeking a Graduate Reporting Analyst who works well as part of a team, is keen to learn their internal reporting processes and procedures and will enjoy working with other Analysts in building quality relationships with Clients and the company's Insurance partners.
Likely to initially be office based, once comfortable in their role & responsibilities, the Graduate Reporting Analyst will typically work 2 days in the office and 3 days from home each week.
Responsibilities Include:
Working alongside other Analysts within the team to liaise with the company's corporate clients to gather information for their pool/captive programs.
Gathering & analysing the required data and then generating reports, ensuring internal processes & procedures have been followed.
Ensuring reports arestarted, completed and signed off within the deadline or timescale agreed with the Client, previous experience of managing conflicting priorities is highly beneficial.
Alongside other Analysts within the team, be comfortable in handling client questions in a timely and effective manner, escalating when necessary.
Analysing trends and performance of each pool programme, summarising the explanations for variances/trends and on occasion, participating in the presentation of results to clients.Identifying any issues that may prevent deadlines being met and assist in the development of solutions to reduce their impact.
Coordinating cessions and claim recoveries for captive clients and/or the refund process including deficit offsets and settlement of international and local dividends for pooling clients.
Participating in the future development of the reportingsystem, internal control processes and clients reports as the company seeks to develop and improve service delivery, includingsupporting the IT function on the project management of ongoing system improvements and change requests.
Preferred Skills & Experience
* A minimum of a 2:1 Mathematics Degree or Mathematics focused Degree ie. Physics, ideally with an analytical& data focus.
* An interest in Insurance or Reinsurance, Data Analysis & Reporting
* A flexible and adaptable communicator who can work collaboratively within a team
* A good problem solver with the ability to make sense of complex data within a report
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly summarise and distil key components of data.
* A provenself-starter with the ability to work on own initiative and display a high level of flexibility
* Excellent IT proficiency with advanced Excel skills, additional knowledge of Tableau or Power BI is beneficial.
* Excellent verbal & written communication skills - an additional language would be great!
* Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
