OPERATIONS MANAGER
ROCHESTER£45,000 to £60,000 + BENEFITS
THE OPPORTUNITY:
We're proud to be supporting a highly successful manufacturer (not the food sector) who is now seeking an Operations Manager to join the team as part of their expansion plans.
As the Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the Procurement, Production and Testing departments to ensure products are being produce on budget to a high standard.
The ideal candidate will have current experience in a Operations Manager role or similar, within a manufacturing environment. Ideally from an Engineering / Industrial manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly driven individual who wants to be part of an expanding business.
THE OPERATIONS MANGER ROLE:
* Manage all production related functions: Assembly, Sub-Assembly, PCB Assembly, Cable Assembly, Production Planning, Goods-in, Dispatch, Stores, Purchasing, Test.
* Establish a culture in which quality and on-time delivery are key.
* Manage the manufacturingof products in line with customer demand and company stock requirements.
* Prepare and manage the preparation of weekly production schedules for each area of Production and Test (e.g. Assembly, Sub-Assembly, PCB Assembly, Test) and monthly production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
* Manage the production operation efficiently to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
* Manage the material requirement for the production process and take responsibility for Procurement to ensure the availability of material allows the production schedule and customer delivery requirements to be met whilst minimising stock levels.
* Manage the Procurement function: take responsibility for the supplier relationships and ensure the procurement of components meets the targeted prices, lead-times and quality.
* Propose capacity plans based on sales, forecast and budgetedbusiness plans.
* Ensure the manufacturing environment complies with Employment, Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation.
* Liaise with Quality Assurance to ensure continual improvement in line with ISO9001:2015.
THE PERSON:
* Must have experience as an operations Manager within a manufacturing business, ideally within the engineering / industrial industry. Any experiencing in the electronics industry would be a significant advantage.
* Experience working to ISO9001 standards or above
* Experience of managing key operational departments such as Procurement, Production and Testing departments.
