Purpose of the Role:
This role requires a combined knowledge of clinical practice, project management, service management, continuing nurse education and professional development and evaluation of outcomes. In accordance with the mission and values of the Hospital, Dublin, the principles of quality and patient safety, and person-centredness, underpin the core function of this role.
The Clinical Nurse Manager III Nurse Practice Development Coordinator will:
* Facilitate the development of a continuous process of improvement in nursing practice within Hospital, Dublin and excellence in the quality of carebeing provided.
* Strategically plan, develop and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) with oversight of the NPDU and nursing staff.
* Provide professional and clinical leadership, support, direction and guidance to all nurses, Healthcare Assistants (HCA's), and undergraduate students across the hospital. In collaboration with the ADON with oversight of the NPDU, the post holder will hold responsibility in leading and promoting nurse practice development initiatives and facilitating the implementation of evidenced based practice.
* Support the principle thatcare of the patient comes first at all times and will approach their work with the flexibility and enthusiasm necessary to makethis principle a reality for every patient to the greatest possible degree.
* The post holder will promote, champion and develop nursing audit and research within the hospital
* Promote and foster a culture of Care, Compassion and Commitment honouringthe core values of the Hospitals System
* Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate nursing practice to ensure evidence based clinical practice and nursing care in the hospital
* Demonstrate the capacity to adopt a senior nursing leadership stance, makean impact, and influence, energise and inspire others across the organisation.
* Develop and manage the nursing service quality assurance programmes in such a way as to support and ensure the delivery of the highest standards of evidence based clinicalpractice and nursing care throughout the hospital, enhancing clinical effectiveness and ensure a high degree of patient satisfaction.
* Through effective leadership ensure the clinical areas in the hospital to which undergraduate nursing students and adaptation nurses are assigned for clinical placements, provide optimum teaching and learning environments that enable the students to meet learning outcomes identified by NMBI and the HEI's.
* Facilitate change and play a key role in promoting the organisational developments and strategies required to sustain innovations in nursing practice.
* In collaboration with the ADON overseeing NPDU, strategically plan and introduce key nursing priorities stemming from the Health System Nursing Care Strategic Framework 2019- 2024. As an example, the introduction of the Careful Model of Nursing to the hospital.
Essential Criteria
* You must have an NMBI Registered General Nurse licence (Ireland) which is in good standing with an NMBI pin from Ireland in orderto be considered for this position.
* You also need to be eligible to work in Ireland and have a current work permit/visa.Essential Experience
Have at least five years' (5) post registration experience of nursing including a minimum of two years(2) experience/involvement in clinical practice management, practice development, education or quality improvement.
* Educated Degree/Post-Graduate Diploma/Higher Diploma or equivalent level
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Preceptorship Course & Supervision of staff and students
* Desirable Experience
* MSc Nursing
* Management Course
* Havecompleted a Teaching and Assessing course/programme/module

* Demonstrate IT skills
* Experience in teaching and assessing the Nursing and HCA Team throughout the last 2 years
