My Client in Dublin is an independent acute care hospital located in North Dublin providing medical care to patientsfrom Dublin and across Ireland since 1951. The opening of the hospital followed a request by the then Archbishop of Dublin in 1944 who invited my Client to establish a hospital in Dublin. Building work commenced in 1947 and the hospital officially openedits doors on 2nd February 1951.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Staff Nurse will be responsible for the following:
Objectives:
* To take responsibility on each shift for the nursing care of allocated patients.
* To work within the nursing care team and assist colleagues as necessary in providing patient care.
* To ensure that a high standard of patient care is maintained at all times.
* To work as part of the multidisciplinary team.
Professional Standard
* To practice within the limits of one's experience and with assistance from other nurses to:
* Maintain a high standard of nursing care
* Develop clinical expertise
* Uphold ethical values of the hospital
* To practice within and support my Client's Mission and Values,policies, procedures, guidelines and new initiatives as directed/introduced by the hospital. Also to work within the guidelinesof An Bord Altranais.
* To follow the appropriate reporting structure of discussing issues first with the CNM II.
* To actively participate and support personal development plans with the CNM II.
* To supervise and direct the Health Care Assistant inproviding high quality direct and indirect care.
* Once appropriate training has been provided, to supervise and direct assigned Student Nurses as well as completing their clinical learning outcomes and competence booklet forms. To effectively communicate issues/concerns with the Clinical Placement Co-ordinator/Link Tutor as necessary.
* To actively work towards improving individual and hospital processes and practices and to identify areas for quality improvement with regard to adhering to JCI standards
* To be involved with the departmental audits like environmental audits, nursing metrics, and sedation audits.
SpecialRequirements
* As this is a developing service, there may be a requirement to rotate between early/ late shifts and the occasional Saturday.
* The Radiation Protection Institute of Ireland (R.P.I.I.) recommend that staff who are pregnant do not workin a Fluoroscopy Unit. If you are pregnant it is your responsibility to inform your line manager/deputy of this. In consultationwith the Director of Nursing you will be redeployed to another area of work for the duration of your pregnancy.
Essential Criteria
1 Nursing & Midwife Board Registered General Nurse (NMBI) Registration for Ireland
2 Must be eligible to workin Ireland (must have visa or permit currently in order to apply)
Essential Education
1 Registered General Nurse
2 BLS certification
3 On-going professional development
4 ACLS Certification
