Senior Estimator - Permanent - Up to £75k, dependent on experience - London
Senior Estimator. Our client, whom are an established Project Management service provider based in London with a strong history and background of delivering projects throughout the Middle East &Northern Africa, who are now expanding to the UK market and are therefore actively recruiting for a Senior Estimator to join their UK-based operation in this exciting new opportunity. Due to the circumstances this is a stand-alone opportunity, initially working in a remote capacity but with visits to site as required, reporting to a Director who is responsible for the UK-based operations.
This exciting new opportunity would suit someone with previous Estimating experience, ideally working on largeand multi-million pound projects, from either a Main/Principal Contractor or Project Management basis.
To be considered for the Senior Estimator role you must:
* Have proven experience in a similar estimating role
* Be motivated and ambitious andbe able to work in a team or under your own initiative.
* Be able to liaise with new and existing clients with a friendly approach
* Ensure quotations are produced accurately and to a high standard
* Have a good understanding of all areas in the construction industry
* Be able to control numerous projects at any one time
* Demonstrate ability to work to tight deadlines* Be confident in conducting site visits and gathering project information for correct pricing of works
* Be able to read technical specifications and drawings and extract relevant information to prepare quotations/tenders
Key Responsibilities
* To ensure that the Company policies and procedures for the business are followed.
* To assist in reviewing jobs to strengthen the bid process.
* Evaluate Supplier/ Subcontractor quotations and ensure compliance with the tender documentation.
* Ensurethat the tender risks in relation to all contracts are correctly identified and accounted for.
* Review lost tenders to see why, how and where improvements can be made.
* Ensure information used for tender is current and provides the best competitive advantage.
* Meet and liaise regularly with the Head of Department for reviews and updates.
