Stump Grinding for All Requirements
With two specialist machines, we can process large and small stumps. This includes the stumps of trees, large shrubs, bushes and hedges.
It is best to deal with stumps at the time of felling or removal. Otherwise, the roots can grow suckers which will turn into another tree or bush. Removing the stump straight away prevents regrowth and other issues like disease and pests. Stump removal also clears the way for landscaping or redevelopment work.

The Process
Stump grinding is a full removal process which includes grinding the stump down and making good the ground afterwards. Stump grinders use a rotating cutting disc to shred the wood and roots, eliminating the potential for regrowth.
We will remove all waste and can use the sawdust and chippings to fill the whole where this is suitable.

Ecoplugs
Our tree surgeons can also advise on the use of Ecoplugs. These are an effective alternative to stump grinding and are an environmentally friendly way to prevent the regrowth of smaller trees and shrubs.
Ecoplugs are small plugs which we insert into pre-drilled holes in the stump. They are filled with a herbicide which releases directly into the stump. Because Ecoplugs are selective, they have no effect on surrounding trees or vegetation.
