Main Purpose of Junior Finance Analyst Role
This role will support the Commercial Finance Team in monitoring and understanding the business performance, providing key reports, review and insight.
Pricing:
Ensure contract prices are accurately uploaded in SAP. Manage and maintain the pricing agreements between our Retailers and Sales team. Challenge the existing pricing processes and add insight to develop a more efficient process, ensuring LICs compliance is adhered with.
Review GP of pricing for loading and escalate to Finance analysts where appropriate
Review and communicate pricing claims to the business and work collaboratively with Finance/Sales to how these can be reduced.
Create reporting processes to enable insight on current pricing set up to ensure accuracy in both our forecasting and actuals, reviewing and highlighting issue areas with Finance analysts.
Trade Spend Activities, Promotional and Residual Funding; and Year End Rebates:
Post monthly trade spend accruals, ensure promotional and residual accruals are timely and correctly set up in SAP, process invoices and updatebalance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure year-end rebate terms set up in SAP reflect the latest trade agreements with customers, process invoices and update balance sheet reconciliations
In month review and of % accruals in forecast vs actuals, ensuring no areas of under-accrual or material differences vs forecast
Rebate Management Process
Manage the interface of rebates from Promax to SAP, ensuring proactive management of issues that need to be resolved and escalation to analysts where necessary
Lead management of daily rebate interface errors, resolving issues and involving Finance analysts where appropriate
Challenge sales where rebates provided for invoices do not match.
Lead Rebate risk meetings with Finance Analysts, highlighting areas of under-accruals, proposals for alternative rebates and flagging any concerns on assumptions to be considered on YTG accruals
Sales & Brand Controlling:
Update templates and provide back-up for monthly Financial Account Reviews andBrand Performance Meetings. Ensure that account review file is fit for purpose for each account, working collaboratively with the Finance analyst to define and evolve based on timing of year and key focuses.
Provide cover for account reviews where needed.
Daily and Monthly Reporting:
Send out Daily Sales Report and MTD GP tracking, analysing material daily movements in GP and providing insight to the Commercial Finance team of the drivers and drainers
Submit monthly sales data split by International Product Attributes and International Customer Attributes to Group and send out a summarized report to the Commercial Finance team
Send out Promax reporting to Finance/Sales, highlighting urgent Promax promotion needed approving.
Ownership of month end calendar update and task allocation, sending out key month end reports, supporting the FP&A manager on the WD2 submission and running the month end comment and BI tables
Induction and Trainee programme:
Own and keep updated the induction deck and ensure that new joiners in Sales are trained on best practise for pricing and invoice management when workingwith Commercial Finance.
Support and coach the international trainee on tasks, ensuring notes are always up-to-date and all-encompassing.
Ad-hoc Reporting & Presentations:
Support Business Analysts as well as Head of Commercial Finance and CFO with ad-hoc reporting & presentation requirements.
Prepare finance slides for IR, MBR and Brunch meetings, adding commentary/insight where appropriate
Junior Analyst Cover:
Ensure key daily tasks are completed when the other JuniorAnalyst is out of office.
