Quality Inspector / Assurance Technologist - Peterborough - £35,000
Job Purpose:
Concept have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Inspector to work alongside a well-established QA Team within a huge E-commerce organisation. You will be required, alongside your team, to inspect the quality, performance and legal compliance of products prior to them being processed to thewider departments of the company. You will also be required to investigate reasons for customer returns or complaints to assistin providing a resolution.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities:
* Inspect the quality, performance and legal compliance of the products, product claims, mail-order compatibility and all other quality related systems that will aid customersatisfaction.
* Ensuring the business is advised of key information that can be used to sell products.
* Be confident in being able to performance test a range of products or samples as necessary, using internal or external resources.
* Ensure any on-going compliance of products to agreed specifications as and when required.
* Look into any abnormal product return levels and identify ways of reducing these by working with buyers and suppliers to provide solutions.
* Carry out random product inspection activities with suppliers and third-party manufacturers as Support the wider departments such as: Warehouse QC Goods-In Team and other departments as appropriate.
* Communications with in-house teams, suppliers and external organisations will be required.
* Collate and analyse data to provide trends and summaries as required.
* Assist in the training of new employees toachieve set quality objectives and promote a quality conscious attitude throughout the business.
* Ensure that records are kept up to date in accordance with company and legal requirements.
* Some travel may be required so flexibility is essential.Person Specification
Essential:
* Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years working in a Quality Assurance / Inspection role within a manufacturing or retail environment.
* Experience of dealing with legal requirements for consumer products specifically electricals and/or chemical products.
Desirable:
* A knowledge of a good manufacturing practice (GMP)
* Experience of quality auditing
* Understanding of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) principles.
* Graduates with qualifications in a product-based discipline will be considered.
* A Driving licence would be advantageous but not essential.
