We are working with South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue to provide these exciting FREE opportunities for Sheffield children (aged 5+) with a Passport to Learning, and their families to visit a real, working Fire Station.
The visits will include a chance to learn all about the work of the Fire and Rescue Service, the equipment they use, the vehicles they drive, the uniform they wear and the career paths you can follow to join them! You will also learn some really important information about what to do if you discover a fire, and how to make sure your home is as safe as possible.
Visits will last approx. 1.5 hours and will earn 1.5 CU credits in your Passport to Learning!

PLEASE NOTE: places are limited and to allow as many children to take part as possible, you may only attend ONE event, so please only complete ONE booking request. Your place is only confirmed once you have received a ticket via email from EventBrite with the event information. Unless you have received your confirmation email and ticket and bring it with you on the day, you WILL NOT be admitted to the event. Due to the stations being in full operation, our visits may be interrupted or cut short if the staff are called out to an emergency while we are there.
FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Yes. Due to health and safety regulations required by South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, only children aged 5 or over AT THE TIME OF THE VISIT will be allowed in the station. Younger siblings, babes in arms or other unconfirmed guests will not be permitted on the tour, to ensure numbers remain within the maximum.
Do we need to bring anything with us?
Yes - this event is ONLY for Sheffield children and young people who have a Passport to Learning. You MUST bring each child's Passport to Learning to the event so that we can fill it in and award you with the CU credits. Passports to Learning can be purchased for £3.50 each from Sheffield Libraries.
Do we need to wear anything in particular?
You will be entering a working Fire Station, so please ensure you are wearing sensible footwear - flat soled shoes are essential. Otherwise, if situations allow, we MAY have the opportunity to squirt the hoses outside, so please dress appropriately for the weather at the time.
