Description:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Lead Support Worker basedin Swindon within a Transforming Care team, supporting a customer to live a fulfilling life in their own home within the local community. The team support customers who have complex support needs, including learning disabilities, autism, communication differences, hearing loss, sensory differences and epilepsy. They may also have a forensic background and distressing behaviours.The customer is currently living in Bolton, and as part of this role your support is imperative to help make the transition toa permanent new home in Swindon. We know this will be an unsettling time which may cause the customer to communicate distress through an increase in behaviour. The plan is for the support team to get to know the customer at their current placement in Bolton in the 10 weeks leading up to the move. You will be an important part in this transition, and you'll be expected spend time in Bolton during the 10 week period and this will include overnight stays. All accommodation, travel costs and expenses are paid.Working hours
The support team will work 24/7 to meet the customers needs, so you'll need take your turn with your team working on a rota which could include working days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays and waking nights. You may also be requiredto do sleep ins or be on call in which an enhancement will be paid.
About you
You must have an excellent working knowledge and experience in CQC Regulated services. It's important that you have worked at a Senior Support Worker level before, with experience of leading support for people with complex needs, including those with significant behaviours that challenge.
Holding a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Health & Social Care or equivalent, with a great understanding and passion for promoting independence and social inclusion through person centred support.
Permanent, Full time, 37.5 hours + excellent benefit packageSleep-In and On Call enhancements paid, 25 days annual leave (on top of bank holidays) is given as standard, rising a day a yearup to 30 days. With the option to buy up to five days extra days leave.
