A fantastic opportunityhas arisen for a family run business established as specialist metal fabricators in London. They specialise in designing and producing perfectly authentic and bespoke metal and iron gates and railings, handrails and balustrades, security grilles, metal staircases, fences and railings, balconies and many more. They offer a wide range of metal pedestrian (garden) gates, automatic gates, double gates and structural steel works.
Due to continued expansion and a heavy work load, they are now looking for a steel work Estimator to join their growing drawing office. The ideal candidate will have experience within the structural steel work industry.
Responsibility & Duties
* Carrying out steel take offs; measuring and qualifying material from engineersand architect's drawings / specifications
* Developing cost estimating for structural steel and architectural structures
*Preparation of detailed quotations, pricing schedules and presentation documents for the tender bid
* Establishing Budgets forthe Commercial, Procurement and Project Teams
* Reviewing and advising on Proposed Client Contract Documentation
* Attending Client Pre-tender meetings
* Preparation of Handover Documentation to the Commercial and Project Team
* Reporting to the Managing Estimator & liaising with staff and clients at all levels
* Maintaining and improving the quality of estimating techniques and processes
Experience & Qualification
* Experience working as an estimator is essential
* Have a good understanding of technical drawings, construction methods and engineering principals within the metalwork or structural steel work industry
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with clients, engineers and suppliers
* Agood working knowledge of MS Excel and spreadsheet programs and the ability to learn
