This superb technology led International Software company in Solihull, continues to grow and is seeking a Network Team Lead to join their skilled engineering team, to be responsible for successfully leading their network team.

Requiring a Network specialist who is technically hands-on ideally including Cisco kit,the Network Team Lead would benefit from previous mentoring & coaching experience, but as leadership skills can be taught, the company is also open to considering strong Network Engineers who are looking for the opportunity to move into a team leadingrole!

Sowhether you are an experience team lead or a skilled Network Engineer looking to step into your first lead role, both will needto be natural self-starters with the ability to think for themselves and their teams.

With a remit running across both project work and BAU, the Network Team Lead will ensure the team is delivering effectively and efficiently as possible.

With much of the work able to be delivered working from home, there will be the occasional need to visit the Solihull site and the company's Data Centres too.

Responsibilities:

* Provide quality leadership & mentoring to the Network Team
* Provide visionand strategy for the company's internal and hosting network
* Take responsibility for all functions relating to the planning, installation, configuration and operation of the hosting network infrastructure
* Monitor network links for performance
*Troubleshoot and repair network related problems
* Identify network configuration and/or performance irregularities.
* Create/Maintain Network support documentation.
* Ensure entire network is properly monitored and alerts responded to effectively.
* Implement and support the network Infrastructure
* Maintain a high level of functionality and availability of all VPN links, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and WAN links
* Document and improve existing processes and procedures* Serve as a technical resource by providing support to multiple projects and business units
* Provide technical assistance and support, either formal or informal, for more junior team members and mentor new and inexperienced team members as required* Be able to set goals and objectives and undertake regular one to one sessions with the team
* Help the team to expand theirknowledge and encourage co-operation at all levels
* Provide monthly updates on services and outage / resourcing issues that are faced within the Network team
* Drive continued documentation standards within the Network Team
* Undertake routine installations and de-installations of items of hardware and/or software.
* Takes action to ensure targets are met within established safety and quality procedures, including, where appropriate, handover to the client.
* Conducts tests of hardware and/or software using supplied test procedures and diagnostic tools. Corrects malfunctions, calling on other experienced colleagues and external resources if required.
* Documents details of all hardware/software items that have been installed and removed so thatconfiguration management records can be updated.
* Develops installation procedures and standards, and schedules installationwork.
* Provides specialist guidance and advice to less experienced colleagues to ensure best use is made of available assets,and to maintain or improve the installation service

Skills & Experience:

* Strong technically Hands-on Networking skills
* Previous team lead experience or the drive to take that next step into people management
* Good experience with Ciscoequipment - certification useful
* Strong technically across VPN's, Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Load Balancers, WAN links etc
* Excellent teamwork ethic
* A natural self-starter with the ability to think and plan for oneself and others
* Experience with both internal & hosted networks
