ASCUS Lab is open to anyone interested in creative experimentation using the tools of science, whether they be artist, scientist, creative/ inquisitor /member of public. Whether you already have a creative idea, need help with some inspiration or simply want to visit and have a go, just come along to one of our open sessions.
To visit, have a tour of the facility and chat to our lab technician is free of charge. To explore further, certain skills are necessary to access our lab equipment and start experimenting, these are gained easily by attending one of our inductions, usually 1hr, or our themed courses, over five weeks.
Check out our website for details and dates of our upcoming microbiology and microscopy inductions. Thereafter, access to the open sessions is £5 or £4 concession per visit and membership, giving unlimited access is £30 per month. You will have access to lab bench space, a secure locker for belongings and specialist equipment.
The open sessions are designed to be self led with technical guidance if needed.
Please note, one-to-one training is only available outside of Open Session times.
