Lead Engineer
Exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Engineer to manage a team of maintenance engineers at our fast-moving consumer goods manufacturing facility in Bedford. This is a hands-on leadership role, being responsible for leading the engineering team across 3shift patterns - earlies, lates, and nights.
We are looking for a strong leader with proven experience maintaining productionlines and machinery in a high-output FMCG plant. Food manufacturing experience is highly preferred. You will oversee the performance of the engineering team across all shifts to ensure maximum uptime and output of our manufacturing lines.
Responsibilities Include:
* Leading, coaching, and mentoring a team of maintenance engineers across multiple shifts
* Scheduling work orders and planning daily tasks for the engineering team
* Overseeing breakdown fixes and carrying out proactive preventative maintenance routines
* Ensuring maintenance procedures and paperwork are properly followed
* Identifying opportunities for improvement in equipment, processes and team performance
* Managing spare parts inventory and maintenance budgets
The successful candidate will hold an engineering apprenticeship or degree and have 5+ years in a high-speed manufacturing environment, ideally within the food industry. You will have strong leadership abilities, excellent technical knowledge, and good problem-solving skills.
